  • How long is the FAW certificate valid?

    Your First Aid at Work certificate is valid for 3 years. To remain compliant with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982, you’ll need to complete a 2-day requalification course before it expires. If it does expire then a further full 3-day FAW course is required.

  • Is there a maximum weight limit for manual lifting?

    There is no fixed legal maximum weight. Safe limits depend on factors like load, posture, frequency, and individual capability emphasising the importance of conducting risk assessments and planning.

  • Who needs FAW training in Northern Ireland?

    FAW training is recommended for employers whose risk assessments identify medium to high-risk workplaces such as construction sites, factories, warehouses, and healthcare settings. It’s also suitable for organisations that need more than the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course.
