Key modules of the Emergency First Aid at Work Training
Course are;
A 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course in the UK is designed to give learners the essential skills to respond to workplace emergencies confidently. It meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and is valid for 3 years.
Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider
Assessing an Incident Safely
Managing an Unresponsive Casualty
Managing a Casualty who is Choking
Managing External Bleeding and Shock
Minor Injuries including Burns and Scalds
Practical demonstrations and exercises involving various rescue and emergency situations that may arise within sections of the nacelle
Correct selection of equipment and subsequent evacuation of self and a casualty whilst following emergency procedures
Attendees completing the Emergency First Aid at Work
Training will be able to demonstrate;
How to assess a incident safely (DRABC)
Legal duties and workplace requirements
How to communicate effectively in an emergency
Correct infection control and use of PPE
Correct recovery position for breathing casualties
Demonstrate CPR for a non breathing adult and use of a AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Correctly identify types of bleeding, chocking and shock

No formal prerequisites although learners must be physically able to preform first aid procedures.
