From our Belfast base, we deliver accredited training and specialist rope access services across sectors including renewables, construction, civils, marine and industrial maintenance. Our team combines practical site experience with recognised training and a dependable, safety-led approach.

What Does “Dangle” Mean?

A name rooted in rope access, rescue and work at height

The word “dangle” means to hang or be suspended freely. For us, the name is simple, memorable and closely connected to the work we do. Rope access technicians, rescue teams, wind technicians and work-at-height professionals all operate in environments where suspension, control and trust matter.


At Dangle®, the name represents more than being on a rope. It reflects our approach to training and specialist services: controlled movement, safe systems, practical skill and confidence at height. Whether we are delivering IRATA rope access training, GWO wind courses, rescue training, industrial painting or technical access services, our focus is always the same — helping people work safely, competently and professionally in demanding environments.

Founder & Managing Director

Simon has been working on ropes since 2011 and brings more than 15 years of experience across oil, gas, offshore wind and marine projects. He founded Dangle to turn that experience into something bigger: outstanding training and specialist services. Corrosion and coatings are his speciality; helping more people build practical skills and take on ambitious work is what drives him.

Simon Dunn

His professional record includes offshore wind commissioning, coating project management and consultancy on the RRS Sir David Attenborough build. He is the author of Corrosion in a Modern World, published in 2020.

Mehmet

Lead Instructor — IRATA, GWO & EUSR

Mehmet is Dangle’s Lead Instructor across IRATA, GWO and EUSR training. He brings over 20 years’ rope access experience across Ireland, the UK and Turkey, combining supervision, rescue and instruction. With an MSc in Occupational Health and Safety and a Geological Engineering degree, he connects technical knowledge with practical learning.

Lead Instructor across Dangle’s IRATA, GWO and EUSR training. His background includes rope access work since 2002, supervision and rescue, with experience across Ireland, the UK and Turkey.

Greg brings 20 years of senior health and safety experience across construction, energy, manufacturing and pharmaceutical projects. His background combines site supervision, incident investigation, integrated management systems and workforce development. His qualifications include the NEBOSH National Diploma and Level 7 Construction Senior Management, supporting practical safety leadership, training and mentoring.
